CITRUS FRUITS
Besides the rice, there isn’t anything more identified to Valčncia than the oranges. The crop of this fruit started to be in the "Valencian strand" at the end of the XVIII Century, and 100 years later it will be a dominant farming with big agricultural fields.
A polished rector was the person who planted the first field of oranges in 1.781. It wasn`t an ungrateful field, but until then, they were only grown it in isolated places.
The profitable growth of the orange was favoured by the purchase of fresh fruits for the industrialized countries of Europe.
The land of cultivation of the oranges and its commerce were enlarging until our days..
Varieties grown for this S.A.T:
Variety of oranges: Valencia-Late, Salustiana, Lane Late y Nave Late.
Variety of tangerines: Clemenules, Esbal, Clemenvilla y Arrufatina.
